Abstract: Suisun's pioneer John B. Lemon was born 1825 in Indiana and received a rudimentary education. At age 24 he was a clerk in a general store when news of the gold discovery in California reached Indiana and his imagination.
In 1849, Lemon left home to travel by mule train to seek his fortune.
