Abstract: Not often do I find documents that offer insight into the whereabouts of a local pioneer family before members settled in Solano County. Fortunately, this is the case with the family of Carrie Pittman, whose grandson, William Smith, preserved letters, deeds and other documents currently on loan to the Vacaville Museum.
